PSYCHODYNAMIC DEVELOPMENT AND FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS

The aim of the course is to deepen the study of affective development and family relationships according to the models of development in psychoanalysis. The course aims to provide knowledge on the development of the cognitive-emotional skills of the individual in the interaction with the environment. Specifically, the model of the development of the psychic apparatus, its functioning and psychopathology will be studied, where the innate tendencies of the child to establish affective-cognitive relationships, as well as the quality of the responses of the environment and the role assume central importance and that this plays in favoring or not the development of the processes of maturation and construction of the integrity of the Self. Furthermore the course aims to stimulate the learning of interactive processes and relational dynamics in different types of families.

In psychoanalysis, the model of human development considers the child “active” from birth and has interactive cognitive-emotional skills, highlighting both the instinctual and affective aspects and attributing equal weight to both intrapsychic and interpersonal events.

"Every child has innate tendencies towards growth and integration, which must however be adequately supported by the environment. Specifically, the health of the family derives from the emotional health and the maturity of the individual that can only be acquired through the family ". In contemporary society, we are witnessing the rapid diffusion of different family compositions. Particular attention will be devoted to the theoretical models of reference in the study of contemporary families, to the parent-child relationship, to parental support, to new needs and to the processes of family change.
