Learning Objectives

The course aims to introduce students to the main theories regarding the origins of violence and its negative effects on the development of person. The concept of trauma will be dealt with by analysing the dynamics of violence in its various forms during two particular stages of life, motherhood and adolescence.



Detailed Course Content

Violence as a result of attachment breakdown, the psychology of trauma, the prevalence of psychological trauma.

The psychological process during pregnancy, prenatal and postnatal studies, moterhood and representation.

Adolescence and violence, violence and the family and violence in youth.

Research and clinical cases will be used during the laboratory to give students a deeper understanding of psychological, family and social mechanisms related to adolescent violence.

Laboratory attendance is obligatory and will be followed by a written exam.
