The educational objectives of the course are to teachthe basics of:epidemiology, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of dental caries; root canal pathologies; periodontitis; mandibular and maxillary abscesses and phlegmons to the under graduate students in Medicine and Surgery. The student must acquire the ability to diagnose the most common odontogenic pathologie sand learn the fundamentals of their medical treatments, including the most used drugs in these cases.The under graduate students must be able to perform a dental reimplantation and lead the patient to the next dental treatment. Moreover, they must learn the general notions to diagnose the malocclusions and prescribe the most appropriate radiological examinations.
Aim of the Course is to provide all the essential informations the students need about this branch of Medicine, whatever the future specialization. The Course is set up to provide data for effectively diagnose and manage a comprehensive range of ophthalmic disorders, in some cases useful in the diagnosis of systemic diseases. A concise format makes it easy to quickly learn and understand the "must-know" aspects of each condition from a clinical and therapeutical point of view, especially focusing on the most important diseases, owing to their epidemiology and clinics.

2) Teeth anatomy outlines: structure and function.
3) Teeth pathology: neodentaria syndrome and imparte third molars.
4) Abnormalities of the tooth eruption stages.
5) Abnormalities of the teeth: shape, volume, number, structure, position and location.
6) Acquired lesions of tooth hard tissues: abrasion, erosion, dislocations and fractures.
7) Dental caries: epidemiology - etiology - macro and microscopic features of tooth enamel and dentin. Carious cavities: prevention, filling materials, therapeutic options.
8) Root canals pathologies: classification, etiology, symptomatology, diagnosis and therapy.
9) Periodontal ligament disease: etiology, symptomatology, diagnosis and therapy.
10) Periodontal disease: pathogenesis, pathological features, symptomatology, diagnosis and therapy.
11) Maxillary odontogenic osteitis; perioral abscesses and phlegmon.

13) Dental Malocclusion and Angle classification.
14) TemporoMandibular joint Disorders (TMD).
15) Soft tissues tumors of the oral cavity.
