Learning Objectives

The course aims at providing information useful to understand the main theoretical issues about efficiency and effectiveness of public policies and their quantitative and qualitative features, in Italy and also in a comparative perspective. Special attention will be paid to the evolution of the role of the public sector, to decentralization issues and to the economic effects of corruption.

The course, through the analysis of official documents and reports, also aims at providing tools to evaluate the effects on efficiency and equity of different models of public intervention, of spending review reforms, of the Italian federalist evolution and of anti-corruption policies.
