The course aims to provide students adequate knowledge and basic skills in the area of psychiatric science. At the end of the course students should: 1) be able to recognize and frame the main psychopathological symptoms; 2) know the recent classification of mental illnesses; 3) know the main therapeutic interventions (psychopharmacological, psychotherapeutic, rehabilitative) in psychiatry; 4) have acquired a basic knowledge of psychiatric legislation and of organization of mental healthcare in Italy.
