Learning Objectives

Knowledge and understanding: Provide adequate knowledge to understand: i) the use and purpose of simple econometric models for the economic analysis of data, ii) the testing of hypotheses through those models.

Ability to apply knowledge: Use the theoretical knowledge provided to understand and estimate basic econometric models that use real-world data.

Communication skills: Knowing how to correctly read and communicate the results of an econometric estimate, as well as the economic message that derives from them.

Autonomy of judgment: The student will be able to critically read an econometric model identifying its purpose, meaning and relative limits.

Ability to learn: The student will be instructed to interpret the results of basic econometric estimates and to derive appropriate conclusions regarding the economic relationships object of the estimate.


Course Structure

Frontal lectures in the classroom with contextual exercises to the subject matter. If the teaching is given in mixed or remote mode, the necessary changes may be introduced.
