Learning Objectives

The course allows the student you to learn the fundations of corporate finance. The aim of the course is to illustrate the main financial decisions relating to investments, financing and the methods of distributing value.

1. Knowledge and understanding: The student will be able to (a) autonomously develop a "conceptual map" of the principles of corporate finance and of the actors involved in the creation and maximization of value; (b) to examine the main issues relating to the valuation of investments (c) to relate investment decisions to the financial sources necessary to finance them (d) information and data to define value judgments, projects and proposals concerning finance issues corporate.

2. Applying knowledge and understanding: Although the course has the ambition to provide a solid theoretical preparation, it is at the same time strongly oriented towards "know-how". At the end of the course, the student will be able to operate within the finance function with mainly operational roles. The student will acquire application knowledge regarding the evaluation of investments, financing choices and business evaluation. The didactic approach enhances the continuous interaction between theoretical notions and the acquisition of professional skills. The presentation of the theoretical topics will often be supplemented by case studies and structured exercises provided in the textbook. The classroom exercises and the eventual carrying out of reports will help the student to acquire a good ability to apply analytical and conceptual tools for the interpretation and solution of financial problems.
