The Bobath Concept is a rehabilitation approach that uses the Problem Solving model for valutation and treatment of persons with function, movement and postural control disorders caused by a lesion of Central Nervous System. Educational workshop's purpose is to elaborate on theoretical aspects underlying the Bobath Concept and to translate the theoretical aspects to applicable techniques for rehabilitation of brain-damaged patients
Educational activies are divided into therotical and pratical lessons. We'll use learning through experience with role playing sessions. During the pratical lesson, we'll learn the phisiopathology movement of body, postures and gestures. We'll arrive to the definition and planning of therapeutic goals. The students'll try different work sequences, under teacher's guide. Prerequisites required: knowledge of anatomy, neurophysiology, kinesiology and neurlogical clinic. Attendance is compulsory for all students.
Facilitation of rhythmic succession, lenght and cadence of the step, historical introduction and theoretical basis of Bobath concept, central mechanism of postural control, patient positioning in acute stage, postural passage from supine to sitting and transfer bed-wheelchair, selective proposals for trunk, proposal sitting to standing, upright station and verticality, pathway, biomechanical and neurophisiological bases, shoulder: biomechanical bases and clinical issues, selective activity of lower limbs and foot, neurophisiological issues and their treatment in motor setting.
