Knowledge and comprehension
Knowledge of some basic steps of the tentative process of harmonization of contract law in Europe. Comprehension of fundamental problems of contract from a comparative perspective; comprehension of the analogies and differences in the regulation of basic aspects of contract with reference to some European legal systems.
Ability to apply knowledge and comprehension
Students will be able to describe and qualify practical problems and judicial solutions from the viewpoint of different national legal concepts.
Autonomy of judgement
Students will gain a better understanding of the process of Europeanization of law within the member States in order to critically evaluate the legal implications of and obstacles for the construction of a European legal unity.
Communication abilities
Students will be required to read and present legal decisions from different national jurisdictions during classes. This will allow students to build the ability to describe legal problems and their solutions using different national legal terms and concepts.
Ability to learn
Gaining familiarity with different national legal approaches to contract law problems and with the attempts to build a common European approach will greatly improve student ability to autonomously continue to learn law.
Lezioni frontali in lingua inglese, durante le quali saranno anche prospettati casi pratici, risolti con l'attiva partecipazione degli studenti, anche attraverso l'apposita costituzione di gruppi di lavoro con l'obiettivo di fornire ai corsisti una piena conoscenza delle principali questioni di riferimento e delle possibili tecniche di soluzione dei conflitti.
Qualora l'insegnamento venisse impartito a distanza o in modalità mista potranno essere introdotte le necessarie variazioni rispetto a quanto dichiarato in precedenza, al fine di rispettare il programma previsto e riportato nel syllabus.

Written. During the course of lectures, intermediate written tests on practical cases may be carried out. Assessment of learning can also be carried out remotely (electronically), if the conditions should so require.
The exam will be assessed according to the following criteria:
• Relevance of the answers to the questions asked
• Quality and understanding of content
• Ability to link with other topics covered by the program
• Ability to report examples
• Properties of technical language
• Overall exhibition capacity of the student
