Glaucoma is an ophthalmic disease with an important and worlwide prevalence, owing to, it is considerated a social disease. The Primary Open Angle Glaucoma (POAG) is the most common type of glaucoma and, being asymptomatic (at least in ealier stages) and irreversible, warrants a particular skill among all opthalmological care-givers treating this disease. The aim of this Course is to provide the trainee assistant in ophthalmology with a systematic, practical and detailed approach to the diagnosis and management (medical and surgical) of the various forms of glaucoma, making them capable of supporting the eye-specialist in all phases of the diagnostic and therapeutic process.
Knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the human body with particular reference to pathologies that require first aid such as cardiorespiratory arrest and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, cardiovascular diseases such as IMA and arrhythmias, traumatology, and diseases of international interest such as atherosclerosis, diabetes mellitus , acute and chronic complications of diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, acute and chronic renal failure, liver and gastrointestinal diseases, elementary bioethics.
Frontal lessons
Should teaching be carried out in mixed mode or remotely, it may be necessary to introduce changes with respect to previous statements, in line with the programme planned and outlined in the syllabus.
