The educational objective of the course is to list the principles of fixed prosthesis on natural teeth. Therapies will be evaluated in the rehabilitation of the single tooth and the treatment of the missing tooth. Particular attention will be given to the first visit and to the formulation of the treatment plan.
The training objective of the course consists in the presentation of periodontal and mucogingival diseases that may affect the oral cavity. The etiopathogenesis, symptomatology, differential diagnosis, therapeutic principles of each will be clarified.
The skills acquired will lead the student to develop a critical capacity on the topics dealt with using the skills actively for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in the surgical management of the patient in periodontology.

Reaching and obtaining the optimal skills in odontostomatology and surgical management of the patient in odontostomatology. Reaching and obtaining the optimal skills in diagnosis, and surgical therapy of mucous and bone pathologies of the oro-maxillofacial district.
The teaching is designed to guide and improve the student's approach to the patient with different problems, ranging from the management of the patient with a specific surgical pathology to the patient presenting with a non-specific pathology at the level of the oral cavity or craniofacial district and which requires a therapy addressed to the symptom, as well as a diagnosis and a therapy aimed at the responsible pathology. In particular, the student must be able to have gained theoretical, scientific and professional knowledge in the field of pathophysiology, histopathology, clinic and therapy of odontostomatological alterations of surgical interest and in the surgical-rehabilitative treatment of total and partial edentulism; histopathology of phlogistic, dysplastic and neoplastic dento-maxillo-facial alterations, the physiopathology of jaw bone atrophy, physical and instrumental semiotics, clinical methodology and surgical therapy are specific areas of competence.
The course is supplemented by free student participation in local, national and international scientific events organized within the clinic, and dental surgery.
The skills acquired will lead the student to develop a critical capacity on the topics covered using the skills in an active way for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in the surgical management of the patient in odontostomatology.
The aim of the course is to provide information and knowledge about workplace-related pathologies (accidents and illnesses) as well as to become familiar with prevention principles, with particular reference to risk assessment and preventive measure adoption.
Students will have to learn methods and techniques to collect work history, identify environmental and occupational risks and possible relationships with genetic, demographic, socio-economic, psychological and cultural factors, related to health or illness statuses, as well as to look into the possible non-specific effects of occupational risk factors, especially for degenerative chronic diseases.
The main etiologically diagnostic aspects of occupational medicine will be dealt with, and so will the epidemiology of con-causally work-related diseases. Also, the most frequent professional diseases and work accidents will be classified. The main analysis method and work risk assessment instruments will be provided, that is limit exposure levels, environmental/biological monitoring and healthcare surveillance. Also, occupational risk in/formation, safety and health law guidelines in work places, primary and secondary prevention of occupational diseases, role and duties of the competent physician will be discussed.
