The course will be devoted to the methodological foundations of the Musical Dramaturgy and to the History of Musical Theater of Modernism
Detailed Course Content
The first part of the course will be devoted to the principles of the discipline and to the History of Early 20th Century Musical Theatre.
The second part will be dedicated to the analysis of four paradigmatic works of Musical Modernism: Elektra by Richard Strauss, Bluebeard’s, Castle by Béla Bartók, Pierrot lunaire and Moses und Aron by Arnold Schönberg
