The course of SPECIAL DENTISTRATOMAL PATHOLOGY aims to introduce the student to oral pathology in its most complex components. It also aims to give the most appropriate therapeutic solutions for patients and the best diagnostic capacity for this type of disease. During the course particular attention will be given to the prevention and treatment of oral oncological and osteonecrotic diseases.
The teaching of Dermatologic aspects of odontoiatric diseases aims primarily to provide the basics of anatomy and physiology of the skin, of visible mucous membranes and skin appendages, whose knowledge is essential for a correct clinical and diagnostic assessment. The student is then guided to the identification and classification of primary skin lesions and of the corresponding cutaneous disorders that may involve the oral cavity. In addition, the basic knowledge of the most modern diagnostic techniques allowing a rational and correct diagnosis will be provided. The histopathological correlations and the appropriate treatment options will also be considered. The course will finally focus on occupational dermatoses and skin cancer.
Lessons and clinical cases
The course of SPECIAL DENTISTRATOMAL PATHOLOGY aims to prepare students for the clinical, anatomo-pathological and therapeutic aspects of diseases affecting the mucosa and the soft parts of the oral cavity, as well as the tissues of the perioral regions. It represents the first approach with the most serious and debilitating diseases of the oral cavity and the ambitious goal of preparing students for cancer prevention is proposed.
