This course is an introduction to contemporary French civilization, culture and literature. Students will examine the most meaningful themes, tendencies, genres and authors with respect to the cultural changes in present day France, with a particular focus on visual arts, francophony and on the teaching of French literature for foreigners. Thanks to this course, we are able to apply knowledge and understanding, make judgment, communicate, learn and teach skills.
The course is divided into four modules. The first part of the course will consider and discuss French literature from de 2d World War to nowdays especially about autobiography, by examining the role of the writer and his language in the social panorama, his/her place in the globalized world and his/her ways of expression through the different genres, languages and arts (3 CFU). The second part of the course will focus on a didactic laboratory, notional and practical, in teaching French literature for foreigners (3 CFU only for LM39 course). Finally, students can attend two monographic courses on the francophone literature between polyphonies, translation and identity, and the fin de siècle novel between model and innovation (3 CFU).
