Frontal lessons.
The first teaching module of the course introduces the student to the study of law as mode of social action, as a system of social action and aims to cover the following topics: a) most relevant epistemological and methodological aspects of sociology of law; b) purposes, methods and characteristics of sociological knowledge and legal knowledge on the law.
The second teaching module of the course explores the processes of construction, definition and treatment of deviance by control agencies, social theorists, media and public opinion. In particular, they will address the different theories developed for understanding the phenomena of deviance in a sociological perspective (different from those psychiatric or criminological strictly speaking).
