Learning Objectives

Knowledge about the beginning of neo-Latin languages. Students will also have to study the medieval romances cultures, with particular reference to those they have in their plan (French and Spain).


Course Structure

The course is divided into two sections: (A) the formation of neolatin languages, (B) Medieval french and spanish literature with particular reference to brevitas



Detailed Course Content

The course is divided into two sections:

  1. The formation of neolatin languages: philology and romance linguistic – romance domain – the neolatin languages birth (phonetics, morphologic, syntax and lessical aspects from latin to neolatin languages) – Romance languages and their typology – Written texts and their transmission – Critical edition.

B. Medieval french and spanish literature with particular reference to brevitas
